Yoga

The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit.

What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word  “asana”, which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses.

While stretching is certainly involved in yoga, the practice is really about creating balance in the body and mind through developing both strength and flexibility. 

Hatha Yoga

Definition: Hatha is a very general term that can encompass many of the physical types of yoga. It is a slow-paced and gentle practice, and can provide a good introduction to the basic yoga poses.

Yoga Fit

An eclectic blend of traditional Hatha yoga poses, drawn from Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Viniyoga practices.  Total mind body workout that features cardiovascular conditioning, functional strength, flexibility, balance, muscle balancing and relaxation.

Anusura-inspired Yoga

Definition: All of Jenn Wurst's classes are inspired by a style of yoga that Yoga Journal defines as: upbeat, optimistic, entrepreneurial, systematic, and do-it-yourself-friendly. It is spiritual but not dogmatic. It creates a sense of community. And it appeals to the Western pioneering spirit by suggesting that there is yet another frontier to conquer - the one inside us.

Gentle Beginner Yoga

A less vigorous practice. Ideal for seniors and for pregnancy. Get relief from pain. Learn how to heal the body.

Beginner Yoga

Learn the basics of yoga. Variations are explored. This is suitable for those new to yoga as well as mixed-level students.

Mixed-level Yoga

Explore more challenging asanas. This is not recommended for beginners. Great for practitioners with some experience.
